Fully licensed by Colt and Cybergun, VFC adds another piece to its collection of historical replicas: the XM16E1, the direct predecessor of the well-known and highly regarded M16A1. The VFC Colt XM16E1 is equipped with a 20-inch external barrel, a 3-prong steel flash hider, an A1-type nylon handguard with heat shields underneath, a fixed A1-type carrying handle with steel rear sights, an A1-type dust cover, a “teardrop” forward assist, an A1-type lower and grip, and an XM16E1-style stock without a hatch.
The attention to detail doesn't stop there, as it features deep-engraved, period-accurate Colt AR-15 markings on the receiver as well as on the bottom of the accompanying 20-round gas magazine. To top it all off, the receiver is covered with a factory-applied coating to best mimic the original color.
Inside, we find the VFC touch with a VFC V3 M4/AR 15 gas system that has proven itself, and it is equipped with a VFC V3 steel firing pin, a steel hammer (firing control group), a nozzle, a silver-coated bolt carrier, and a VFC 20-round V3 gas magazine to power the system.
