Airsoft may be just a game, but the engineers and machinists at PDI definitely don't play around.
These barrels are cold-hammer forged, which is the same process that real firearm barrels undergo. This process creates a very consistent bore that gives the barrel a tolerance of +0.002mm. This tolerance is currently the highest quality in the entire Airsoft industry for accessible stainless steel barrels. Custom made or lapped stainless barrels can surpass the inner surface of PDI, but those barrels are extremely expensive and are generally not accessible to most consumers.
The material is SUS304 Stainless Steel. This Steel is harder to cut than most barrels and has superior corrosion resistance. Additionally, PDI barrels are very well known for their straightness and quality control.
This barrel is 6.05, which is the same diameter as standard AEG barrels. The 6.05 bore is best suited for long range engagements. Through their own research and testing, PDI has found that wider bores give better accuracy over longer distances than tighter bores.
