Tokyo Marui M40A5 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle is the next big thing from Tokyo Marui that has made various improvements to the system based on experiences from the older VSR-10 and L96. The new M40A5 makes the VSR-10 shy with the following new features:
- Working cocking indicator,
- Short stroked bolt-action with 30% less pull travel distance,
- Adjustable trigger pack (adjustable length of pull and reset),
- Realistic magazine location ,
- 1:1 Actual size rifle stock ,
Encased in a brilliantly textured polymer stock with 1:1 ratio to the real one, the M40A5 is a beast that is entirely different to all the snipers Tokyo Marui made before, it has a short stroked bolt, an adjustable trigger pack, a working cocking indicator and a realistic magazine location. Thanks to the new trigger pack, now the trigger pull length and reset is now adjustable, and the new feeding mechanism allows the magazine to be placed where it should be, so magazines no longer have to be accessed from the front, making magazine swaps in a gun fight a delightful action.
Externally a lot more metal has been used on the gun, which had always been bothering players how 'plasticy' Marui products were, now we could say they have step up their game with an Aluminium outer barrel, Zinc Die cast thermal sight mount, Stamped Steel cased magazine Aluminium SF style flash hider (14mm CCW) and a metal scope mount. On the stock 6 QD sling mount points has been added, which frees the stud mount for using bipods (sold serparately), cheek riser is adjustable for 4 heights.
One of the highlights of the gun is that the gun now has an adjustable trigger pack and a new magazine feeding mechanism. The trigger pack is now equipped with an 'Actuator' that reduces squishiness of the trigger and the adjustment screw in the front and back helps to find the sweet spot of your trigger pull, it can be as feather light as you want, as short as you want and vice versa. The new magazine feeding mechanism is also a new safety features, similar to a magazine cut-off, when there is no magazine inserted, the gun would not feed BBs into the chamber, making it safer for the users.
